Magatamas

Magatamas are Items that can be equipped to Weapons. When used on an equipped Weapon they provide the listed Stats to the character. Magatamas can be moved from Weapon to Weapon, improved, or sold.

Acquire Info

Magatamas can be gotten from some Main Quest Chapters, Gold Gotcha, Arena Magatama Ticket, and Time Attack Quests.

Gameplay Note: Time Attack awards only Magatamas.

Rarity and Types

Magatama currently can be found in (N) Normal, (R) Rare, and (SR) Super Rare rarities. They can also be attained in (UR) Ultra Rare rarities as well. These rarities can be combined in any combination with details being found below in the Upgrade section.

There are four (4) types of Magatamas that match up with the character's stats.

Effects

Magatama must be equipped to a weapon that is equipped to a character to have any effect on the character. Equipped Magatama can alter two things for the character, the character's Equipment Stat Modifier (the second green number of the Character's Status value) and percentage modifiers for combat values.

Status

Magatama provide either HP (Green), ATK (Red), DEF (Blue), or CRIT (Yellow) stat boosts to a character when placed in an equipped weapon. The value a Magatama provides increases with Rarity, SLv., and upgrades.

Combat

Magatama that have been Polished (see Polish below) acquire added adjustments to values generated during combat in Quests. These percentage adjustments to combat values are sometimes called Options in Loading Screen Hints.

Combat Modifications from Magatama equipped to a Main Weapon are applied at full value.

Combat Modifications from Magatama equipped to a Sub-Weapon are applied at... (WIP: Either full or as %age by SLv. as found in Equip Sub-Weapon screen.)

Each Polish will add a Combat effect from a selection according to the color of the Magatama. The effect and value are random.

Combat effects gained through Polishing a Magatama can be re-rolled with a Magatama Reset (Modifications:Reset, below).

Gameplay Note: Bonus may scale with Rarity. Testing needed.

Modifications

Magatama received in-game can undergo several improvements from the player. Magatama can be combined to Upgrade stat bonuses. Gain combat effects with Polishing. And re-roll currently assigned combat effects.
The player cannot change a Magatama's color, or Rank (N, R, SR). Magatama cannot be altered in the Crafting Facility.

Upgrade

Magatama are Upgraded by combining one Magatama with other Magatama in the Magatama Upgrade Screen.

When combining Magatama, a player can combine varying colors, Rarities, and Lv.s This enables the player to combine any Magatama with any other Magatama with no limitations.

Combining Magatama gives the target Magatama 'experience' for lack of a better term. A Magatama's Rarity determines how much 'experience' it needs per Lv. as seen below in Magatama Experience Values, as well as how much 'experience' it can provide to another Magatama. Higher Lv. Magatamas and/or higher SLv. (i.e., those that have been Polished) provide more 'experience' when Upgrading.

Upgrading has a base Gold cost determined by the Rarity of the target Magatama. This base cost is multiplied by the number of Magatama used to Upgrade the target. The base Gold cost is NOT modified by the color, Rarity, or Lv. of the Magatama being used to Upgrade. That is, upgrading with a Normal Magatama has the same Gold cost as upgrading with a Super Rare Magatama.

Polish

A Magatama that has reached Lv. 5/5 can gain no more magatama 'experience' without raising the magatama's level cap with Polishing.

Polishing a magatama will set the magatama from Lv. 5/5 to Lv. 1/5. Polishing will also randomly assign a combat effect from a selection pool based on the color of the magatama and a randomized percentage value for that combat effect. (See Effects: Combat, above for details.) The randomly assigned combat effect can be re-rolled through the Modifications: Reset option covered below.

All magatama can be Polished a total of five (5) times; giving a magatama a maximum of five (5) added effects.

Polishing a magatama has a Material and Gold cost scaled to Rarity and number of times Polished.

Reset

Performing a Reset on a Polished Magatama modifies a single combat buff by re-rolling the effect type and percentage value.

A Reset requires a Magatama to be Polished. (There is no combat effect to Reset without Polishing.)

After paying for a Reset the player has the option to choose which combat effect to apply to the Magatama.

Combat buffs can be reset multiple times until the player no longer has resources available.

Resetting a combat buff has a set cost defined by the Rarity of the Magatama..

Keep in mind that jewels can be converted up and down at the item production facility.
