"Intergalactic Destruction"
" On a distant planet, Ragnarök wreaks havoc, can you put a stop to it? "
- Ragnarök's Descent's monologue.
Overview
Ragnarök's Descent is the fourth dungeon in Fabled Legacy released on 27th August, 2023. The theme of this dungeon is a realm for calamity with floating rocks, fallen citadel structures, and illusions of planets, and takes place around the Kuiper Belt. Ragnarök's Descent requires players to be level 60 for Normal difficulty, level 65 for Expert difficulty, and level 70 for Chaos difficulty. Ragnarök's Descent has a total of three types of normal mobs and four bosses. Three of them being mini-bosses while the last one being the main boss. Ragnarök's Descent has a multiplayer scaling of +40% per player.
This dungeon's revamped version was released on 13th September, 2024.
Enemies
Ragnarök's Descent features three kinds of enemies, one type of boss-spawned enemies, and four bosses, each with different attack patterns. The enemies will not move unless the player moves close enough or if players attack them. Enemies will have a base health of 1M HP on Normal difficulty, 2M HP on Expert difficulty, 3.5M HP on Chaos difficulty, and 6M HP on Calamity mode.

Astral Cannon
Bosses
Ragnarök's Descent consists of four bosses, three being mini-bosses, and a main one at the end. All bosses have a unique move set. Two of the bosses either have a new move, or an enhanced one when playing on Chaos difficulty.
Addonis
![]() Addonis is the first mini-boss in Ragnarök's Descent. Addonis is a humanoid entity with an astral ring around its head, wearing a stone like helmet, having some stone armor between the hips, a gem stone at the center, having its entire body being filled with astral energy, and is holding an Astral Lance with it's right hand. When playing on Chaos difficulty, Addonis's entire body will turn bright cyan. Addonis has a total of four attacks (one being passive). |
||
Base Health | Attacks | |
---|---|---|
Expert: 7.5M HP |
Astral Burst: Release five sunburst beams and the location are randomized each attack. Upon entering the arena, Addonis will summon five Astral sun-burst attacks randomly, each only dealing one tick of damage. Astral Constellations: When the 5th astral sun-burst attack occurs, five purple glowing stars will randomly spawn at the field. Players are required to collect all five stars and have to stay inside the flashing green circles, which is the same as where the stars spawned. Addonis will slam its lance on at the ground, creating a burst of astral energy. It is noted that the uncollected stars will disappear, losing the green circle shields, killing anyone nearby the arena. For anyone who are not in the green circles, they will also die to the attack. Astral Charge and Astral Slice: After the Astral Connection attack, Addonis will charge to a random player (similar to Cursed Centaur) with it's lance, dealing players on the way. Then, it will strike the ground down creating a large AoE circle damaging players that are inside of the radius. After that, Addonis will teleport back to its main spot cycling back to Astral Burst. Addonis will charge three times in Calamity mode. |

Players needs to be constantly moving to avoid it (similar to Sunken Defender's stone walls attack). Astral Lasers: During the Enhanced Astral Quad Striker attack, four lasers will be spinning counter-clockwise. Players can simply jump over to avoid it. The speed of the lasers is increased in Chaos mode. |

Tips and Recommendations
- A tank is recommended if the players want to perform a safer run as the Astral Cannon may be difficult to avoid for DPS players.
- With enough time, one can simply sacrifice themselves to clear the Astral Detonators and avoid killing others.
- This is not recommended in Hardcore or Calamity mode as Astral Detonators deal massive amounts of damage when detonated. (about 200k and 400k respectively)
- A true guardian can tank the damage and heal it off, assuming one is in your party.
- A player who has respawned recently can use the temporary force-shield to detonate the Astral Detonator safely.
- This is not recommended in Hardcore or Calamity mode as Astral Detonators deal massive amounts of damage when detonated. (about 200k and 400k respectively)
- When fighting Kaegyr, players can stay close to it so the rings attack will hardly hit you.
- If you are a warrior class, try to stand next to the star closest to Addonis so you can get some melee attacks in.
- Note that melee attacks are unable to reach it unless you are on the sides / back of the boss.
- When doing a Non-Hardcore Run in any difficulty of this dungeon, players can respawn right after pressing start to skip the path in the beginning without any time deduction. This does not work in Hardcore Mode.
- If you are separated from everyone and you have the green Astral Curse, run to them after the laser disappears to prevent anyone from dying.
Trivia
- The mascot for Ragnarök's Descent is Kaegyr.
- This dungeon's trailer was posted immediately after the Elemental Raids update.
- Like Sunken Fortress before its release, players could see the dungeon in the creation menu, but with "Coming Soon.." written in the middle.
- If Astral Detonators spawned after Addonis was defeated, they also needed to be defeated along with the mobs in 4th room in order to proceed to the 5th room.
- This is the first dungeon to have four bosses.
- This is the first dungeon to have four armor sets.
- Heldeir is recolored and remodeled version of Corrupted Mantle cosmetic.
- This and Thundering Peaks are the only two dungeons where mobs having different color schemes in Chaos/Calamity mode.
- Ragnarök is the largest boss in Fabled Legacy.
- Ragnarök's name is based on Norse mythology's foretold events with the same name.
- When this dungeon was in development, Heldeir used to have voice acting and had a completely unused attack in which he threw a large ring through left and right. This was later scrapped after the dungeon was released.
- Currently, Ragnarök's Descent is the only dungeon with Chaos exclusive attacks, with only one.
- The Chaos exclusive attacks from Sunken Fortress and Cursed Marshes have been moved to Calamity mode in the Raided Village overhaul update.
- Ragnarök's Descent is the first dungeon to introduce Calamity exclusive attacks.
- Ragnarök is the first boss in Fabled Legacy to have voice acting.
- There is one voice line that Ragnarök does not say. It is "Do not be afraid, human..", which can be heard in the dungeon trailer.
- The voice actor for Ragnarök is Vael, a contributor in Fabled Legacy.
- The full voice line set for Ragnarök is: "Do not be afraid, human. I am not here to harm you, I know the truth... he controls us all... I AM." (This full voice line set can be seen on Sprookie_Meow's "A Tribute to Fabled Legacy - Congrats on 10 Dungeons!" video).
- This is the first dungeon to have joke messages, as a way to know which player is nuking a team.
- The time limit has been increased to 15 minutes to increase retention span.
- Ragnarök's Descent is the second dungeon to get a revamp, the first is Raided Village/Kingdom.
- Although the map is revamped, enemies, bosses, items, etc. Are still the same. Only the mob layouts are slightly changed.
- The runes throughout the dungeon are of the Elder Futhark, the runic alphabet used before the Viking Age.
- These runes spell out a modified variation of Ragnarök's voicelines: "Do not be afraid human, it's only natural to fear what you can not govern".
- Ragnarök's original voicelines used the word "comprehend" instead of "govern". This is most likely an oversight.
- The Ragnarök's Descent Revamp Event cosmetics are the Legendary weapons from the second dungeon "Dark Atlantis" in Dungeon Crusaders, an entirely different dungeon crawler game that is now abandoned and currently bought by SirPixelP (owner of Fabled Legacy) to use most of the item assets to prevent them unused.
