In the beginning of the series, Kurt is in the closet until he comes out to Mercedes Jones and eventually to his father, Burt. In Season 2, Kurt meets Blaine Anderson and quickly falls in love with him. During the season, Kurt is the target of bully David Karofsky and transfers to Dalton Academy because of it. Kurt and Blaine then start pursuing a relationship in Original Song.

In Season 4, Kurt moves to New York, eventually gets accepted into NYADA, and his long-distance relationship with Blaine goes through several obstacles. After overcoming the hurdles, they eventually get engaged in Love, Love, Love. Sometime before Loser Like Me, they break up, but Kurt later realizes his mistakes and returns to Lima to win Blaine back, as well as to help Rachel reboot the glee club. In A Wedding, Kurt finally marries Blaine.

Kurt is portrayed by actor Chris Colfer.

Matthew Morrison is less than four years older than Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, and Harry Shum Jr., yet he plays their teacher who is in their 30s.
In early drafts of the Pilot script, Quinn's name was "Liz Fabray".
Emma sang Afternoon Delight with Carl, Puck, Rachel and Quinn thinking it was a dessert rather than another meaning for an afternoon romp in the sheets.
Ironically the character Chris Colfer portrays is one of the oldest kids in the Glee Club. Chris, until "Pot' O Gold", was the youngest cast member in Glee, even younger than Lauren Potter, who portrays Becky. Jenna, Darren and Kevin all portray characters who are about a year younger, but they are all older than him.
