Halle Lynn Bailey (born March 27, 2000) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She is part of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her sister, Chloe Bailey. She starred in the 2023 American musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid as the titular character, Ariel, where her performance was lauded by critics. In August 2023, she released her debut solo single, "Angel," which was nominated for Best R&B Song at the 66th Annual Grammys. Later that same year, she portrayed Nettie Harris in The Color Purple, where she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture at the 55th NAACP Image Awards. Her next singles, "In Your Hands" and "Because I Love You" were released in March 2024 and August 2024, respectively. Her latest single, "Back and Forth," was released in February 2025. |
