Rules

General Rules

  1. Age-restriction: As of the FANDOM Guidelines, you have to be at least 13 years or older to participate. If you're in the correct age, you can view the wiki as a guest; but if you are less than 13 years or older, your account may be disabled by the FANDOM Staff.
  2. Plagiarism: Plagiarism is illegal because it's not okay to submit online sources from websites as your own. Doing that process on articles or categories will be marked as plagiarism with the current template and they will be deleted if it is not rewritten. Remember that plagiarism is not a criminal or civil offense. To avoid plagiarism, the articles or categories you are currently typewriting must be in your own words or give credit with the {{Credit to}} template.
    1. NOTE: Listing measurements such as something's height and weight or a release date are not text that could be rewritten.
  3. Language and Offensive Content: Contributors should be aware that this wiki is meant for users as young as 13 years of age, we don't tolerate excessive profanity or offensive language [IE racial slurs]. As a general rule, the same applies to articles, do not litter articles with offensive language, even articles listed as mature. You will also not disrespect or harass anyone, violators will be warned/banned based on the offense.
  4. Vandalization: Intentional vandalization may result in blocks and bans accordingly. Visitors that commit obvious vandalism without an account will be permanently banned.

Content

  1. Effort in the Articles: Articles with little to no content (only a single paragraph or just an image without text) will be deleted if not expanded unless an admin states otherwise. If a user creates articles like this, the individual will be expected to fulfill in a reasonable time frame, usually 4 months. This clause does not apply to incomplete articles/articles that succeed in mass listing getting ready to be expanded into the future. All articles require a minimum of two headings and at least two paragraphs worth of content per heading. The staff has the right to recycle or delete the article if little effort is put into it for too long.
  2. No Fanon Mecha/Tokusatu Allowed: Fanon mecha or tokusatsu are not allowed on this wiki since the website is already non-fanon, canon. Any article pertaining to such may be deleted at the staff's discretion.

Links, Pictures and Miscellaneous Items

  1. Gallery size, position & color: It is 0% necessary to leave the colors of the subs as gray since the background is already black and it is difficult to read what the subtitles/caption. Also, it is better to leave the gallery's position in the middle instead of right and left because it can interrupt the editing of other users. The letters of the page might get inside of the gallery code and corrupt its codex, breaking the template. But if the gallery is kept in the middle, it will never happen as the letters and the template are separate in a proper space. Same thing with the videos and their position too. It is better to leave them in the middle like the gallery for the same reason. If there is a section saying: Videos and you put the video to the left said, this page will get a bad design (it is not like this is important). And last, if the images within a gallery are too small, it is better to leave on the max size (such as 300px).
  2. Picture Policy: Not only this is not a photo-sharing site, but most users who visit here also do not have super fast connections. Pictures are allowed as references. Do not upload fan art to an article unless the art in question can be used as an accurate visual reference; the artist's name and permission to upload to this Wiki are required, cite your pictures. Pictures with screenshots may not have subtitles or watermarks, these will be deleted on sight. Images that are not worksafe will result in an instant ban.
  3. Filename Policy: You will provide accurate information in the filename; mention the name of the entity, number it, and source your image.
  4. AI Images: Absolutely no artificial intelligence (AI) generated images are to be posted on the articles.

Categories

  1. Categories Need for Articles: When an article was created without categories, it means that it was not categorized. So be mindful that you always categorize articles. If any templates that automatically added an article to the category, this should have the article to be categorized with the template. Add a decade category and the name of the studio(s) in the category section. Do not create new types of categories without permission from staff.

/m/ Wikia Specific Rules

  1. All articles are to pertain to in-universe information on mecha anime and tokusatsu. General sci-fi, fantasy, horror, etc. may be included if the information is focused on mechanical elements (robots, cyborgs, vehicles, etc.) and/or monsters. While real world information is welcomed do keep in mind in-universe information comes first.
    1. While listing statistical information can remain present tense, when writing about individuals, groups, or events the sentences are to be written in past tense context.
    2. Do not use extra-textual terminology or logic when it comes to content in the articles, this wikia is not meant to be TVTropes. The intent of the articles is to be neutral and professional. Please note this applies to articles, not comments or message wall posts.
      1. Acceptable: Godzilla fires his blue atomic ray from his mouth, but due to Hedorah's resistance to radiation no visible damage can be seen.
      2. Unacceptable: Toho's cash cow fires his bullshit beam from the low budget muppet mouth, because they ran out of money the director decreed the space sludge somehow capable of though goes unharmed, stalling the plot because an idiot ball sure made its way into the plot device.
      3. Acceptable: Wing Gundam Zero's Twin Buster Rifle ranges in power from leaving 5 meter deep holes in the ground to engulfing and vaporizing an entire space colony.
      4. Unacceptable: Bandai's new toy needed to be sold so fuckme gun's non-stock footage scenes do whatever the writers thought was cool at the time which insults the audience's disbelief.
      5. Acceptable: According to Hideki Anno the Evangelions were meant to have more human-like bodies and constitutions that separated them from contemporary mecha on the market at the time of its release.
      6. Unacceptable: Because all robot anime were the same before Eva, Anno had an actual brain and took his audience seriously when crafting the copyrightable merchandise.
      7. Acceptable: Among the armaments of the Core Gunner from Godannar includes a machine gun stored in each pectoral/mammary gland. This may be an allusion to the Oppai Missiles from the Mazinger franchise.
      8. Unacceptable: As every Ryusei will tell you, the pervs that wrote Godannar knew what they were doing, look at the caliber at each of Core Gunner's boobs. Go Nagai did something like it in the 70s so homage confirmed.
    3. This wikia is not for episode guides, plot summaries, credit lists, soundtracks, casts, or the like. Please use websites like anidb.net or myanimelist.net.
  2. When listing powers/weapons/abilities and the like be as descriptive as possible; what body part is used, is it the left or right one, what color is it, is there a limit to the ammunition, does more than one of the described entities exist, etc. Details like this are good and encouraged no matter how minute. Also try to include episode appearances if the entity appeared in less than five (this does not apply with short episode counts or movie exclusive articles); if it appeared throughout the series just list what episode it first appears in.
    1. Not counting listing pages, articles dedicated to in-universe information must have a bare minimum 2,500 characters. This can be overlooked when a page is first made, but when all the necessary information has been added in this must be the final count. One episode OVAs and movies only require a minimum of 2,100 characters. DO NOT ARTIFICIALLY INFLATE THE CHARACTER COUNT WITH IMAGES/GALLERIES.
  3. Check to make sure a well defied Wiki already exists for the type of information you wish to edit. For examples do not make Godzilla, Gamera, Gundam, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Kikaider, Super Sentai or Power Rangers, Garo, Captain Earth, Buddy Complex, Heavy Object, Machine Robo or GoBots, Guilty Crown, Valvrave, Gargantia, Cross Ange, Guyver, Cutey Honey, or Keroro Gunsou articles since Wikias with well defied pages for such information already exist. If you have information not present on those Wikias try editing there first. If you are uncertain or still want to make an article contact an administrator to request an article; the smaller a franchise is the more likely it is to get an article.
    1. No articles pertaining to Hollywood movies are allowed, there are plenty of other wikis for that.
  4. Please do not use comment sections to call for other people, that is what Message Walls are for.
  5. The articles on this wiki heavily prefer colons (:) over hyphens (-) to keep things compact.
  6. This wiki uses the Oxford standard of using commas meaning when listing things you will put a comma before "and" if you are listing three or more things.
    1. ACCEPTABLE: Red, yellow, blue, green, violet, and orange.
    2. UNAACEPTABLE: Red, yellow, blue, green, violet and orange.
  7. Do not change the titles of articles without permission from the staff.
  8. Articles that detail in-universe information is to have the following table after the introductory statement at the top of the article in order to keep track of various media:
Media Title Alternate Titles/Spellings Air Date Media Type Episode Count
Title as seen on the title card (Japanese spelling in parentheses if applicable) Translations in other languages Month Day (comma) Year to Month Day (comma) Year Television, Motion Picture, Video Original (OVA), Net Original (ONA), Video Game Number of episodes of an entry in an Arabic numeral (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)

{| style="text-align:left; font-size:95%; width:100%" class="wikitable" | '''Media Title''' || '''Alternate Titles/Spellings''' || '''Air Date''' || '''Media Type''' || '''Episode Count''' |- | ''Title as seen on the title card (Japanese spelling in parentheses if applicable)'' || ''Translations in other languages'' || Month Day (comma) Year to Month Day (comma) Year || Television, Motion Picture, Video Original (OVA), Net Original (ONA), Video Game || Number of episodes of an entry in an Arabic numeral (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) |}

    1. Note: If a series has multiple seasons those multiple seasons are to be treated as separate titles.
    2. Note: Unaired episodes, pilots made before airing, and trailers with original footage constitute as Video Originals.
    3. Note: Series and movies that premier or are originals to specific streaming platforms constitute as Net Originals.
    4. Note: Pachinko and Pachislot games constitute as Video Games.
