  • October 21, 2024: Aardman and Mattel have announced that they are working on a new Pingu TV series.
  • June 16, 2021: The 40th Anniversary DVD, The Best of PINGU has been released in Japan.
  • May 15, 2021: Pingu gets a new render
  • December 1, 2020: The Offical Pingu Youtube Channel has returned to uploading videos
  • March 30, 2020: To commemorate Pingu's 40th Anniversary, a "Pingu" exhibition is set to take place at the Matsuya Ginza store in Japan, during the period 12-24 August, 2020. [1]
  • November 12, 2019: The "Pingu" series receives an official 40th Anniversary logo.
  • June 7, 2019: Two original Pingu models have been displayed at the "Alles Kneten" exhibition in Museum of Art and Design Hamburg.



When HiT Entertainment bought the rights in 2001, Steve Cox went over to Gutmann’s studio in Switzerland and brought back everything they could find, but the puppets were all falling apart.
