It focuses on Kanzaki Kaori as she undertakes various missions across the world on behalf of Necessarius, with two unnamed companions, a Jeans Shop Owner and a Tour Guide Girl. While the nature and destinations of the missions vary, all of the seemingly separate incidents involve magic tied to Norse mythology, leading up to the story's finale.

First released in eight parts, bundled with BD releases for the first season of the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun anime, it would later be compiled into the first volume of Toaru Majutsu no Index: Gaiten Shoko and the events in the story's finale would tie into the first half of Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index.
