Tomica, a portmanteau of "Tomy" and "car", is a line of die-cast toy vehicles. They are produced by the toy company Takara Tomy beginning in 1970. Throughout the years, there have been many different lines released under the Tomica name, including toys based off of real-world vehicles of all kinds, more fantastical ones, licensed characters such as Disney, and many different tracks and playsets.
Tomica Wiki is a collaborative encyclopedia, who welcomes all users who want to help out and edit here in good faith. Tomica Hyper Rescue: Drive Head is the first anime season of the Tomica series and the third season overall. It started airing on April 15, 2017 as the replacement of the rather unsuccessful Kamiwaza Wanda series and aired until December 23 of the same year, being ultimately replaced by Shinkalion, which was the third collaboration between Takara Tomy and TBS in recent years. Drive Head was successful enough to spawn a web series and a movie after it had finished airing on television. Not much more than two years would pass until the next anime season known as Tomica Kizuna Gattai Earth Granner would be announced.
