Fabricator

Summary

The Fabricator is a structure that, when connected to a reliable iridium source, can fill in nearby blueprints. The fabricator looks like a taller version of the automechanic. The fabricator costs 550 Iridium and it is located while the portafab is in your hand in the technology category and in structure tech. It builds blueprints at a rate of 20 iridium per second at a range of up to 128 studs away.

The fabricator is a great device while building up your base because it eliminates the need for constantly gathering iridium. The fabricator is a pretty common thing to see in many bases. Destroying one would be a good idea to slow down the base building process and give you the upper hand.

As of August 7 2020, the fabricator can also be upgraded so that it can build 2 structures at once, and at a rate of 25 iridium per second. This can be useful when constructing priority beacons, so your fabricators can also build something else and build the beacon at a faster rate. It can also be used to quickly develop your bases to add defences and other buildings quickly.

The Well Pump's first upgrade is a Fabricator for 250 iridium. The lowered price of it makes it perfect for starting out a base.

  • Can be upgraded to increase rate of construction.

Cons

  • Expensive for early game.
  • Like the automechanic, cannot build several things at once unless upgraded.
  • Requires two distributor caps to run when upgraded.
  • Can accidentally build things you misplaced, making you waste time destroying them.
