Alice Springs

Alice Springs is a leg located in the Northern Territory, Australia. It made its debut in Race Around the World for Season 1, which released on December 1st, 2021.

Race Around the World

Alice Springs makes its debut in this game. Alice Springs has the usual buses and trains, as well as horses, a unique transportation method. Taxis are not available, presumably because Alice Springs is a remote place in Australia.

Solo Challenge: Aboriginal Art Center

The Aboriginal Art Center is a Solo. One member of each team must match pairs of Aboriginal Art until none remain, once finished the team will receive their next clue. There is no certain strategy for this challenge, but try not to start at random points of the board since it makes places of art harder to remember. Once all the pictures are matched, teams will receive their next clue.

Choice Challenge: Dinkum Gold Mine

The Dinkum Gold Mine is a Choice. Teams have the choice between Going Up or Going Down.

Going Up

In Going Up, teams will have to collect either 3, 4 or 5 gold pieces depending if the team is solo or duo. The gold must be then carried to the top of the mineshaft through a random obstacle course, You can skip the first few jumps of the obstacle, but beware to not try other shortcuts near the end. Once the team has the amount of gold required, they will receive their next clue.

Going Down

Teams must find matching tracks from an assorted pile behind their minecart. They will then bring those pieces to match the missing piece of the track. You can split the work with your partner as to not spend too much time on the challenge. Once all pieces have been found, the minecart will go down the track. Once the team has ridden their cart to the end, they will receive their next clue.

Checkpoint: Uluru

The Checkpoint depicts Uluru, also known as the Ayers Rock, a massive sandstone monolith south-west of Alice Springs. It is accurate to the real world version.

In the TV series

Australia has been visited in the American version of The Amazing Race, yet Alice Springs has not been visited as of season 36. However, Alice Springs was visited in Episode 9 of the 5th season of the Australian version of the Amazing Race.

Trivia

  • Both the Aboriginal Art Centre and Dinkum Gold Mine are fictional locations, and are based off of Australian ideas rather than actual locations (Mining is more Western Australian thing for those who want to know where gold mining comes from).
    • The Dinkum Gold Mine is named after a Roblox mining simulator named "Dinkum."
    • Alice Springs has 5 aboriginal art centers in its main city area, however the one in game looks nothing like the real ones.
