Choice Challenges (TAR: Detour) are a type of challenge in Race Around the World. These types of challenges give you an option of two challenges, in which a team must only complete one to receive their next clue. Choice Challenges generally feature a riskier, faster option, and a slower, easier option that lets players decide on how fast they're able to complete it.

Trivia
- All of the legs have choice challenges, except for Istanbul, Turkey, Rio de Janeiro, Seoul, South Korea, Cusco, Peru, King George Island, Antarctica, Brașov, Romania and Baguio, Philippines and other finale legs except Los Angeles.
- Rewinded teams are forced to do the other option in the choice challenge that they haven't finished.
- In the series and other games, this is called as a 'Detour'
