―Engineer
Overview
Engineer is a slap-required glove introduced on January 8, 2022, and received a mastery on March 15, 2025. It requires you to possess at least 9,000. It has a complex texture which is a mixture between dark green and black tints.
Ability
Engineer’s ability, "Sentry," places a metal stand with a plain white glove attached to a 5-stud-long handle (compared to the standard 1-stud handle for most gloves). The glove spins counterclockwise, starting slowly and speeding up until it reaches its top speed. The sentry stays active for 30 seconds before disappearing.
Each time the sentry slaps another player, the user gains 1 with multipliers.
Mechanics:
- Speed Boost: Slapping the metal stand while the sentry is active temporarily increases the sentry's speed for about 5 seconds before it returns to its normal pace. It is unable to be slapped for 3 seconds afterwards.
- Toolbox Spawn: There is a 10% chance (1/10) of a toolbox spawning when the ability is used. If anyone other than the Engineer interacts with the toolbox, they receive the Toolbox badge and the Hammer glove.
Overview
Engineer's Mastery was added on March 15, 2025. The glove looks like normal Engineer with the colors reverted to black and some white patches.
Mastery Obtainment
To obtain Engineer's Mastery, you need to complete 3 tasks:
- Have your sentries slap someone 2,000 times
- Kill 1,000 people using your sentries
- Place 750 sentries
Strategies
- For the first quest, Go to a Small Public Server and go to Cannon Island. You can get to the Island quickly by using a cloud, placing an alt/friend on the cloud, changing to engineer, and then drive to the island. Get a friend/alt with null and tell them to move on top of the staircase. Now, place a sentry on the bottom of the staircase, near the grass. Make your friend/alt use Null ability and it should slap multiple imps. Keep in mind try not to stack sentries, and remember when sentries despawn.
- For the second quest, ask a friend to make a maxed-out pillow fort in the middle of cannon island. Get a cloud and position your cloud above the pillow fort and one of the entrances for a troop. Angle your self to be looking at a 45 degrees angle to the floor. If done correctly, when you spawn sentries it will be angled just right to slap the troops off, giving you progress.
- The third quest is naturally completed when you do the first 2 quests. Complete them first.
Ability
Mastered Engineer's ability "Sentry" is taller and gains an extra slapping arm in the middle of the sentry's pole, (which prevents players from standing on the sentry) and has a cannon on top that periodically fires Track missiles that target random players. These missiles are significantly faster than the Track glove's missiles and can only fire when in line of sight, however, they explode way sooner and can also lose their target.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Good power and speed.
- Great for defense and camping islands.
- The sentry has a good amount of slap power.
- You are able to stand on the top of your sentry.
- You can place 3 sentries down for a brief moment.
- The sentries can be used to grind slaps.
- You can place two or three sentries together and go between them.
- It is easy to use the toolbox as bait.
- Can place 2 sentries on top of each other which can block people with regular jump power.
- You are immune to your own sentries.
- You can be protected from one-shot gloves such as God's Hand, The Flex, Error and OVERKILL.
- Upon slapping your sentry, you can make it grow in speed, making it so that players can't reach the middle due to its fast pace.
- You can get a friend with Cloud and ride the cloud while using the ability to get Slaps. The sentry will always spawn on the ground.
Cons
- Pusher can push your sentry to the void.
- The middle part of the sentry is a blind spot.
- Projectiles can hit you away from your sentry, leaving you vulnerable.
- Golden users can walk through the sentries unhurt with their ability.
- Elude cannot be slapped by your sentries.
- Ultra Instinct can teleport behind you if they're slapped by your sentry.
- You can't collect your own toolbox.
- Players can time their jumps and make it to the middle of the sentry.
- When the toolbox spawns, people can take advantage of it as you are defenseless.
- Grinding slaps with the ability for a long time without dying can get a Hitman to target you.
- Gloves with high speeds such as Speedrun can still hit you if they're holding forward.
- Stun can disable your sentry with it’s ability
Special Interactions
- The Stun's EMP disables Engineer's turrets and is currently the only glove able to.
- You may be able to un-stun your sentry if you slap it. It's quite inconsistent though and seems to work most when the sentry is still slowing down. Possibly referencing sapping (Sapper from the Spy from TF2)

- Upon slapping the sentry while under the effects of Thor’s blast, you can hypercharge it, giving the badge Übercharged including the Wrench glove.
- Wrench can also speed up Engineer's turrets.

Trivia
- The tooltip is a reference to the Meet the Engineer video from the game Team Fortress 2 (TF2). In fact, the tooltip is just copied from the video's script.
- Unlike newer gloves that can build objects like Snowball, 🗿, and Obby, Engineer does not have a selection/placement mechanic.
- Engineer had the longest tooltip of any glove in the game, but it recently got beat by el gato.
- Engineer was reskinned on March 4th, 2022, due to unknown reasons.
- Engineer has a 10% chance to spawn a toolbox with its ability, which grants the Hammer glove.
- Engineer’s texture might resembles comically dubbed internet hackers in movies. With the binary letters being green and the canvas being black.
- You can place sentries on top of one another to make the ones higher up spin faster.
- There's a glitch where if a sentry is placed on a Slapple player and they use their ability, the Slapple player will infinitely fly with the sentry as long as they move in the direction of the sentry, though this is very rare.
- 3 sentries can occur simultaneously but will only last for a short while.
- There is a glitch where if a Sbeve goes onto the base of the sentry and pushes it, it can make itself and the sentry fly.
- Strangely enough, when stacking sentries on each other, it can cause the slap-stick part to disappear.
- Stacking a sentry at a specific spot of another sentry can clog the lower-sentry arm from slapping.
- Mastered Engineer is a reference to the Engineers max level sentry from TF2
